The Celestial Empire has promised to take action in response to the delisting of three Chinese telecom operators on the New York Stock Exchange

Earlier it became known that the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will soon begin delisting the three largest state-owned telecommunications companies in China. In response, the Chinese authorities promised to take retaliatory measures that would protect the interests of companies.

China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom are expected to start divesting on January 7, according to reports. The NYSE’s decision came shortly after last November, when US President Donald Trump banned US investors from holding shares in companies believed to be under the control of the Chinese military.

“This abuse of national security and state power to suppress the activities of Chinese companies is not in line with market rules and violates market logic. This not only violates the legal rights of Chinese companies, but also harms the interests of investors in other countries, including the United States, ”the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.

While the Commerce Department has pledged to take action to protect Chinese companies, it has also urged the United States to accommodate China in order to get bilateral trade relations back on track.

The source notes that in the last weeks of Donald Trump’s presidency, pressure on China has increased significantly and relations between the two largest economies in the world are becoming more and more tense. Last December, the US Department of Commerce blacklisted dozens of Chinese companies, accusing Beijing of using civilian technology for military purposes.

Chinese diplomats also expressed hope that the new US President, Joe Biden, who takes office on January 20, will be able to reduce the level of tensions between the two countries.
