Microsoft Begins Beta Testing New Windows Feature Experience Pack
01.12.2021 [12:46],
Vladimir Fetisov

On the Windows Developers blog, there was a message about the start of testing a new way to implement improvements in the software platform. This is a Feature Experience Pack, which is designed to improve functions and capabilities developed separately from the OS. We are currently testing with members of the Windows Insider program on the Beta channel.

The post notes that a small number of features are currently being developed separately from Windows, so the volume of changes brought by Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 is also small. In the future, it is planned to include the update of this package in the existing Windows 10 servicing process, so that users will be able to receive new versions through Windows Update.

As for the current update, it does include a small number of changes. Users can use Snip & Sketch (Win + Shift + S) to take screenshots and paste them directly into the desired folder in File Explorer. In addition, the touch keyboard in portrait mode on 2-in-1 devices now supports split keyboard mode.

Feature Experience Pack updates will be delivered to Insiders through Windows Update, similar to cumulative updates. If you are a member of the Windows Insider Beta Channel, then to download the new version of Windows Feature Experience Pack, simply go to Windows Update and check the available updates for installation.
